Whether you like Huggies or Pampers or both, they are super duper cheap this week at Harris Teeter. Tomorrow, April 14th the sale will start and the "jumbo" packs of diapers will be on sale for $5.99. What makes this a better deal is the $3.00 off coupon on coupons.com. Better Late than Never!!!

I guess it's not really "late" because my pantry and freezer are constantly revolving. I decided to try some new recipes this weekend and to get some things stored in our freezer for the month. We have a lot of food in our freezer but our "meals" are getting low so I am going to go over the contents of our pantry and freezer this week and decide what I need to replace and what I need to make.

If anyone has any deals right now on Cream of chicken (or an alternative) let me know!! I need some to make a new supply of chicken and noodles for the freezer and I also thought about making some chicken and rice. Both are favorites around here.

Ok, here are the things that I made last weekend and this weekend (though I am not done);

Brown Bag chicken burritos (8)
Homemade refried beans (3 large bags+ what's in the burritos)
homemade granola (large ziploc bag)
20 waffles cut in half for Princess' breakfast
4 pounds of turkey burger browned/seperated/ and froze for meals
2 loaves of bread baked, sliced, and froze for breakfast
2 meatloaf, mixed, and put in freezer

Thanks for taking a look!

Monthly Cook Off!

I have taken part in a small way last month and now since we are snowed in :) I thought I would take advantage of the situation and get some of my protein cooked up! I am doing the following this weekend;
Taco Meat
Spaghetti sauce with turkey meat/green pepper/onion/mushrooms
whole chicken for chicken noodles, and or dumplings, broth
whole chicken for enchiladas, tacos, nachos
red beans and rice with turkey kielbasa

I think I am going to hold off baking bread for a couple weeks because I find myself eating bread/toast for a snack :( That is not a good thing when you are trying to watch your calories. I might add some things to this list if the ice and snow don't melt and I am stuck in the house :) If you are doing some cooking as well leave me a comment to let me know how your cooking and freezing are going :)

Here is a great giveaway!!!

Go here to learn how you can win this machine!!! Go here if you want to know about the machine!!!!!

Walgreens 1-09-2010

     I had a little bit of an attitude today from the manager or key holder but I won't hold it against one of my favorite stores. I wanted to buy some nabisco crackers that are on sale for 99cents a piece and use a $2.00 coupon, but the coupon is 2cents more than the crackers (benefits the store) and she didn't offer to adjust it she just gave attitude so I just said never mind I don't want the crackers then :) There was a problem with the eye shadow but that was my fault for not handing the cashier the MQ coupons first and then the walgreens coupon. Remember if the item is going to be free after coupons ALWAYS hand them your MQ first!!!! Ok here are the things I bought.... while 2 impatient older gentlemen waited to buy cigarettes :)

2 reach toothbrushes $3.99 each (7.98)
3 Revlon single eye shadows $4.99 each (14.97)
2 Stayfree Maxi Pads $6.29 each (12.58)
1 Extra Gum (because cashier was trying to win a contest?!?) 99cents
total before coupons: $36.52
-$3.99 BOGO on toothbrush
-$1.00 on toothbrush
-$4.00 Walgreen coupon on toothbrush
-$2.00 Revlon
-$2.00 Revlon
-$2.00 Revlon
-$9.00 Walgreen coupon on Revlon
-$6.29 BOGO on maxi pads
-$6.00 Walgreen coupon on Stayfree

Mercy it's been a great shopping day!

1 Nivea body wash $6.99
1 Nivea cherry lip gloss $2.99
1 Nivea Shiny lip gloss $3.99
1 coconut SF candy $1.50
1 toffee SF candy $1.50
green bag tag $.99
green bag tag $.49
4 white tissue paper $2.00
total before coupons: $20.45

-$5/$20
-$2.00 off  CVS Nivea body wash stacked
-$2.00 MFQ on body wash
-.99 bag tag
-2.99 BOGO Nivea lip care
-$2.00 ECB
Total out of pocket $6.62
$5.00 ECB printed

What sucks about this deal is that I had $27.00 ECB in my pocket book that I couldn't use because my total wasn't enough!!! I had an $18.00 buck and a $9.00 buck. Lesson learned, split the bigger deals into different transactions to avoid this problem. I guess that is a good problem to have, but I don't like spending out of pocket at this CVS or at Walgreens :)

Harris Teeter #4 Super Doubles (Jeremy's Arm Load)

Poor Poor Jeremy :) He always gets roped into my schemes! This time it was part mine and part his! I wanted the free cereal and he wanted the free ziploc :) Here is how it worked out;

4 quart Ziploc boxes= $10.00
MQ- $2.00 off ziploc

-$5.00 ziploc rebate means $2.64 for everything! It should have been free BUT I guess HT is smarter than us. But I still think we did pretty well!!!!

MQ= 2/$1.00 off Ziploc + 2/$1.00=  -$4.00 after super doubles
