Monthly Cook Off!

 

I have taken part in a small way last month and now since we are snowed in :) I thought I would take advantage of the situation and get some of my protein cooked up! I am doing the following this weekend;

Taco Meat

Spaghetti sauce with turkey meat/green pepper/onion/mushrooms

whole chicken for chicken noodles, and or dumplings, broth

whole chicken for enchiladas, tacos, nachos

red beans and rice with turkey kielbasa

I think I am going to hold off baking bread for a couple weeks because I find myself eating bread/toast for a snack :( That is not a good thing when you are trying to watch your calories. I might add some things to this list if the ice and snow don't melt and I am stuck in the house :) If you are doing some cooking as well leave me a comment to let me know how your cooking and freezing are going :)

Menu Plan for the week :)

Last week I posted our menu plan and forgot to print it off. We didn't do a good job following it :) I am going to follow it this week, promise!

Breakfast: toast, bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal, pancakes (freezer), fruit

Lunches: sandwiches, Turkey hot dogs(Cali), left overs, fruit

Sunday: kielbasa, red beans and rice
Monday: tacos

Tuesday: Chili

Wednesday: Chicken Noodles

Thursday: pizza

Friday: burger

Weekly Meal Plan!

This week we are going to be living off the pantry :) We definitely need to since we have a huge stockpile! Also my big new stand up freezer is coming!!! I will take pictures of the little freezer and then the new one when it chills to the correct temp. !!!! Have a great week!!!

Free Atkins Starter Guide and snack bars!

Now we know I am not the epitome of health and wellness but I thought this was a great idea. You go  HERE and then a week later you get a pocket sized carb book and 3 full size atkins bars to sample! Walgreens 1-09-2010

     I had a little bit of an attitude today from the manager or key holder but I won't hold it against one of my favorite stores. I wanted to buy some nabisco crackers that are on sale for 99cents a piece and use a $2.00 coupon, but the coupon is 2cents more than the crackers (benefits the store) and she didn't offer to adjust it she just gave attitude so I just said never mind I don't want the crackers then :) There was a problem with the eye shadow but that was my fault for not handing the cashier the MQ coupons first and then the walgreens coupon. Remember if the item is going to be free after coupons ALWAYS hand them your MQ first!!!! Ok here are the things I bought.... while 2 impatient older gentlemen waited to buy cigarettes :)

What sucks about this deal is that I had $27.00 ECB in my pocket book that I couldn't use because my total wasn't enough!!! I had an $18.00 buck and a $9.00 buck. Lesson learned, split the bigger deals into different transactions to avoid this problem. I guess that is a good problem to have, but I don't like spending out of pocket at this CVS or at Walgreens :)

Harris Teeter #4 Super Doubles (Jeremy's Arm Load)

Poor Poor Jeremy :) He always gets roped into my schemes! This time it was part mine and part his! I wanted the free cereal and he wanted the free ziploc :) Here is how it worked out;
